Bihar needs an organisation which could effectively connect the government with people who are dependent on forest, forest based products and agroforestry based products for their livelihood.

This purposeful Bridging will create an ecosystem to mutually benefit both the department and locals. One of the most significant achievements of this ecosystem will be an increase in green cover of Bihar through afforestation on the privately owned lands.

Agroforestry products thus created will be sold through an exclusive online platform “E-Mandi”. Bihar will get its first and only online marketplace with a transparent system for purchase and sale of agroforestry products, Non Timber forest produce, Minor forest produce and finished products made by artisans with some form of association with the corporation. E-Mandi will ensure that the farmers get the best price of their produce and find genuine buyers.

Technological interventions of which E-Mandi is the front-end will increase revenue for the government by enabling improvements in collection of Kendu Leaves and its storage and auction, minor forest produce such as sal seeds for oil extraction, mahua flower and its processing into products, medicinal plants, herbs and fruits.

These interventions will benefit lakhs of Farmers and thousands of artisans and bring employment, income and eventually create ancillary industries procuring its raw material from the organisation.
